A stroke, or cerebrovascular accident (CVA), is a medical condition that occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and essential nutrients. This interruption can lead to the death of brain cells within minutes, resulting in potentially life-threatening or life-altering consequences.
